The Play Porch: Dreaming Out Loud, Even Before the Doors Open

The Play Porch started as a dream. Then came months of late-night research, coffee-fueled spreadsheets, and a business plan written by yours truly on the bed before bedtime or after school drop off.

The Play Porch is more than a business idea. It is the hope of a mom who wanted a space where kids could play in a calm, intentional way, and where caregivers could breathe, connect, and feel less alone, without feeling guilty for needing that.

Here is the honest part. I am still a mom in the thick of it. Some days I am building spreadsheets and floor plans, and other days I am simply trying to keep up with a toddler who needs me more than any business plan ever will. The juggle is real, and sometimes I struggle with where to put my energy. But this dream has a pull I cannot ignore.

I believe in the strength of women, of moms, of caregivers who carry so much and still find ways to create something beautiful. The Play Porch is not just about four walls. It is about community. It is about proving that we do not have to do this alone.

I do not know exactly when our doors will open. We have a rough timeline in mind, but right now it is about taking each step as it comes. What I do know is that the vision is real, the need is real, and the community we can create together is already here.
